The project was the construction ex novo of a detached housing structure using tipical traditional architectural features of the meditteranean area on the island of Krk. It’s situated in the isolated, peaceful rural center characterized by a strong green surrounding.
The house, with its irregular floor plan, develops on two levels, where the groung floor, used for the main funtions of the living area, the kitchen, living and dining room, bathroom, storage and a staircas, also contains one bedroom. The space on the first floor was, designed as the sleeping zone with two bedrooms with their private bathrooms, occupies a smaller total surface that the groun floor because the part of the surface available was used to create open terraces for each bedroom.
The use of traditional materials like stone facade, typical mediterranean gutter and its corresponding decorative elements and the highlighted sky-blue blinds that perfecly replicate the traditional seaside meditteranean house create an imposing but at the same time not invasive traditional house of the modern age.
